You Should Subscribe. Here’s Why…

Sure, paid subscribers get full access to the newsletter and website and other perks like participating in the reader community & getting access to Q&A newsletters where I answer reader questions, but the real benefits are way bigger than that.

First, it allows me to produce content for you without using ads, without taking money from some big corporation, and without having to use affiliate links. These things have the potential to introduce bias into the publication.

Second, it allows me to really put in the hours to create the best content I can for you. Affiliate links, sponsorhips, and promotional deals not only introduce bias, but they also take time to set up and maintain, and that takes time away from researching new stories, and doing the best writing and editing job I can.

Each week, paid subscribers receive a new message, unlocking stories, bios of interesting players new and old, technical workouts, repair details, history, and much more guitar-related reading. The world of guitar is so vast, and so rich, that almost anything can land in your inbox!

About The Author…

My name is Brian Jones. Being born into a family of musicians, and being named after a founding member and original guitarist for the Rolling Stones, it might’ve been inevitable that I would do something related to the guitar at some point in my life.

I began playing guitar in 1985. Over the years I’ve played both acoustic and electric (er, and bass) for pleasure and for money, in studios and on stages, in genres from blues to classical, and country to bebop.

I have also been a writer nearly all of my life, and have worked as a writer and editor professionally alongside my day job. I’m the co-author of two books, have served as Editor-in-Chief of two magazines, and have been a writer and contributing editor to several online publications. I’m really excited to pull my passion for writing together with a topic I’ve been so deeply and personally invested in for such a huge part of my life!

In the end, I’m just really passionate about the guitar, and find a special connection with others who are drawn to the instrument. I hope my writing can inspire others to get even more involved in all that the instrument has to offer in terms of music, history, technology, community, and more.
